For a successful tent camping trip, you should take the time to research an area before you decide to go camping there. There are many resources available online, including state websites and private websites where you can find out what kind of facilities will be available and what kind of activities are in the area. If the campsite isn't too far from home, it's also a good idea to scout it out in person first. Next, inspect all your camping gear to make sure everything's in good working order.
Before you book time off work, you should also be sure to reserve a camp space in advance if necessary. Developed camping sites at the more popular camp grounds often have waiting lists that can be booked up to eight months in advance.
