Birdseye View - Binoviewers In Space and In the Field

A Maryland company that makes binoviewers - binocular-viewing adapters - for telescopes has learned that their products are considered "out of this world," reports The Daily Times of Salisbury.

Denkmeier Optical in West Ocean City designs and produces the binocular products that attach to telescopes to allow viewers to use both eyes when scanning the night skies. The devices increase acuity and are more comfortable.

And now, the company announced, a NASA astronaut and part-time International Space Station resident is packing his binocular viewer for his trip into space.

NASA doesn't let astronauts endorse products, so he will remain nameless -- but Denkmeier Optical has plenty of other loyal customers, and has received favorable reviews from magazines such as Astronomy; some of its offerings were selected as "Hot Products" in 2003 and 2004 by Sky & Telescope Magazine.

Outdoor enthusiasts who prefer to venture out in the daylight are advised to look into Denkmeier's new product line of spotting scopes for birding and other outdoor activities.
