Can You Survive Anything?

Next week marks anniversary of the Donner Party disaster. For those who do not know, the group of migrants became trapped in snow in the Sierra Nevada mountains (yes, the same mountains Steve Fossett's plane went down in) and suffered the same fate as the survivors of the Andes Plane Crash. When they ran out of food, they ate the bodies of their friends, companions, and family members. However, 46 of the original 87 members survived.
Which leads me to my point. Are you prepared to survive any unforeseen circumstance? Do you know how to filter water, find or hunt food, or build a tent without tools? Can you start a fire without matches, a lighter, or a flint?
I found a great website, Simple Survival, that illustrates how to survive just about anything. I especially love the articles about finding directions without a compass and how to make a log snare.
What did you learn?
