Colorado Climbers Remembered
Filed in archive Mountain Climbing on January 4, 2007
The Sheridan Opera House in Telluride, Colorado, has planned a memorial service and celebration of the lives of Colorado mountaineers Charlie Fowler and Christine Boskoff on Jan. 15.
Fowler and Boskoff went missing while mountain climbing in southwestern China. Fowler's body was found last week at about 17,400 feet on Genyen Peak in Sichuan Province. Searchers who found Fowler speculated that he was killed in an avalanche. Boskoff is still missing and is presumed dead.
Monks at the Buddhist monastery at Khan Ding cremated Fowler's body and held a prayer service.
The search for Boskoff will resume as soon as weather permits.

it's sad that the world has lost 2 great people and terrific climbers. I am glad that the monks did something special for Fowler's body and have great respect for all life. They will be missed
