What makes a hiking trail a top hiking trail for dogs? Is it good, wide trails, great things for him to smell, or lots of trees for him to pee on? Some hiking trails and camp sites even have areas where you can have your dog off the leash.

Before taking your dog on a hiking trip there are some things you should remember to do. Pack a leash for each dog as most hiking trails require that dogs be on a leash in most areas of the park. Make sure they've had their medications, especially medications like Sentinel which will help keep them from picking up fleas and worms while they're out in the woods.

Most of all, have a good time and get some exercise. Both you and your dog can benefit from the activity of the day that hiking brings. This is your time to destress and have a good time with your dog. After all, dogs have stress too.
