New Adventure Race in Abu Dhabi

With plans for a Disney-related theme park and an underwater hotel, Dubai is bullying its way luxury tourism. But, its more laidback neighbor Abu Dhabi is sticking close to its adventure tourism roots.

The country's tourism department has initiated a new adventure race, which includes sea kayaking and camel hiking. Sound tempting? Registration begins on July 1st and is limited to 30 teams.

Event Details

* A 6-day race.

* Overall distance: Approximately 400 kms

* Co-ed Teams of 4 (no assistant)

* Maximum 30 teams on the 1st edition

* Team assistance & transport of team gear supplied buy the Organization.

* Total prize purse: around 200 000 USD.

* Disciplines: Sea Kayak, orienteering, rope works, camel hiking (1 camel / team ﾖ to transport gear), MTB & inline skating (TBC).

* Registration fee: 3500 Euros / team Includes: logistics & assistance at the race, Sea Kayak equipment, 2 hotel nights (B&B) prior to departure + 1 at the arrival, food at the bivouacs, dinner & prize giving ceremony.
