NOLS – Outdoor Learning
Want to be outdoors? Want to be a leader? Want both?
Take yourself over to the National Outdoor Leadership School – an outdoor teaching organization that does some incredible things with some incredible people (NASA astronauts… Cameron Diaz…)
Some of the courses emphasize skills such as: backpacking, Wilderness Medicine, Rock Climbing, Mountaineering and Kayaking. Some of the locations of the classes include: Teton Valley, Rocky Mountains, Pacific Northwest, Patagonia and New Zealand.
NOLS founder Paul Petzoldt's idea was simple: take people into the wilderness for an extended period of time, teach them the right things, feed them well and when they walk out of the mountains, they will be skilled leaders.
