Norway: The Pristine Holiday Destination

I always prefer holiday destinations which are pristine enabling me to take my mind off (even if it is for few days) the exploited and crowded places where I am forced to reside because of my work. Norway is one such place which is abound with natural and scenic beauty and is sparsely populated making it an ideal holiday destination for people who need some peace of mind. What makes Norway an ideal tourist destination are the numerous flights from UK, excellent transport system, availability of high standard food and accommodation and English speaking population which makes it a tourist friendly destination.

There are a number of attractions in Norway which you can't avoid. The South is marked by charming villages, sandy beaches and some brilliant hiking routes. You must visit Bergen which is considered to be gateway to the fjords and Sognefjord is the second largest fjord in the world whereas Voss, a little inland is center for summer sporting activities.

Once you move north you come across Geirangerfjord which is one of the most photographed places in Norway, you can certainly not miss this sight. Go beyond Trollveggen and you are greeted by Lofoten Islands where you must stay at one of the renovated fisherman huts. Moving further north you come across Tromso which is a lively small city with some of the remarkable architecture. Also how can you miss the daunting cliffs of the North Cape and Finnmark in Norwegian Lapland which is home to over 100,000 reindeer and are still taken care of by the Samis.

My word: A visit to Norway will certainly leave you re-energized and invigorated.
