Question of the Week: Earth Day

. And I don't know about you, but it seemed larger and more recognized this year than any other. Magazines dedicated whole issues to the topic and MTV pimped Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's ride. Even Oprah joined the party with an entire show about it. It seems going green is the hottest new trend. But, why now?Earth Day was established in 1970 to "remind the people of the world of the continuing care which is vital to Earth's safety". But, for me, everyday is World Earth Day. I always recycle. I always turn the water off while brushing my teeth. I always conserve energy. Like Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, I don't need a holiday to remind me of what's important.
Which leads me to the question of the week: After 37 years, why do you think saving the planet is finally catching on?
