Survival Gadgets

But as we all know; accidents happen. So, what would you want to have with you when it happens? (If it happens, I should have said, perhaps...) A few little gadgets can help you survive until the guys in red parkas show up, and the chopper hauls you up over the treetops.
First thing you want to bring, is fire. Even if it's hot summer and the weather is excellent, if you want to survive getting stuck in the woods for a week, you should bring a little pocket fire. From "SurplusandOutdoors.com" comes the coolest lighter I've seen in a good while. Unless you're one of those guys who never leave the house without the old'n'battered Zippo, the Amazing Windproof Jet Lighter is for you. You can even choose what color flame you want! Now if that isn't amazing and handy in the woods, I don't know what is.
Second! Who would go out of the house at all these days without a Leatherman tool? I wouldn't, that's for sure. www.leatherman.com will help you choose the right one - me, I went for the "Fuse". Small and lightweight, it's got everything I need for a day out in the bush. (Yes, I know I live in the city, but I mean - it's a jungle out there, isn't it?)
Third! If you can manage to get a signal on that new, fancy cellphone you brought out into the wild, you can bet the battery will be dead. Whatever will you do? Ah, well, where there's a will there's a way. The Wind-Up Mobile Phone Charger and LED Light will help you bring your frenzied message to the ones who care the most. The Park Rangers.
If you really want to safeguard, the thrid gadget you need is Ray Mears. Gotten lost? With Ray by your side, you can lean back and relax. A fire will be going in a second, and there'll be food in five minutes.
A little word to the wise; this list isn't exactly exhaustive, and if you really wish to venture into the wild, make sure you never walk alone, and preferably bring someone who knows the area.
