Ten Western Waterfalls
Filed in archive Water Adventures on April 19, 2007
Niagara Falls is arguably the most famous waterfall in the United States. And when you think about waterfalls, it's probably the only one that comes to mind. But that's a perception Sunset Magazine is hoping to change.
In their April issue, the Western publication highlights 10 West Coast waterfalls. The article makes some great suggestions (some known and some unknown) and provides detailed instructions, including approximate miles and walking times, about the exact location of the waterfalls.
A few making the list are:
-Havasu Falls, Supai, Ariz., on the Havasupai Indian Reservation
-Akaka Falls, Big Island, near Hilo, Hawaii
-Yosemite, Bridalveil, Vernal and Nevada Falls in California's Yosemite National Park
-Rifle Falls State Park in Colorado
-Snoqualmie Falls in Washington, about 30 miles from Seattle
For additional waterfalls and detailed information, read the April issue of Sunset Magazine.
